The province of Canterbury has become the epicentre of much discussion about the role of water in present day New Zealand. The Ashburton Art Gallery is, accordingly, the perfect place to launch The Water Project. Since opening its new premises in 2015, the gallery has consolidated its position as one of the leading provincial galleries in New Zealand, presenting solo and group shows by leading artists.
